1950
Creation of “La Société des Bois de la Meuse (The Meuse Wood Company), specialising in slicing oak.
1961
In Oevel, Belgium, creation of the company Ober, specialising in slicing exotic wood.
1968
Start of the manufacture of Oberflex panels with laminated natural wood decoration.
1982
Stake acquired in Stenersen (USA) in order to distribute Oberflex products on the American continent. 1984 The company is renamed Ober.
2005
Takeover by the current management, Etienne de la Thébeaudière, Clément Lescanne and Gilles Vedel.
Launch of the Ober Deck flooring material, naval in inspiration.
2006
Listed on the Stock Exchange; Acquisition of the company Marotte, specialists in top-of-the-range cabinetwork panels.
Launch of Bioply and 3DPLY, collections of rough-sawn veneer panels.
Launch of the Contrasts & Materials collection, wooden or metal panels to replicate the effects of creative textures and surfaces (gouged, blazed, hammered, ribbed, crocodile effect…)
Designer’s Days: furniture exhibition created in Oberflex for l’Edition Silvera. Designer: Patrick Norguet
2007
Launch of the “Obersound 5.5 Designers Collection”, which totally reworks the aesthetic approach to acoustic perforation - Design Trophy, Batimat 2007 –
Designer’s Days: In collaboration with designer Olivier Gagnere, creation of brand-new panels for the Véronèse lighting showroom.
2008
“5.5 Designers Collection”: prize for innovation at Equip’Hotel
Designer’s Days: Creation of a special colour for the designer Hilton McConnico.
Exhibition organised at Véronèse.
2009
Launch of Chic&Pop, a collection of all-new colours, inspired by the world of fashion.
2010
Designer’s Days: Oberflex exhibits its collections at “Le Lieu du Design” using stage décor by Cake Design.
