Today the company is one of the first of the timber industry to have achieved its carbon footprint. This continues a policy of voluntary accountability launched several years ago at every level of its activity.

Achieve its carbon footprint to control energy expenditure

In January 2010 Oberflex® achieved its carbon footprint led as part of a collective dans le cadre d’une action collective action organised by CRCILi in partnership with the Ademeii, the DRIREiii and the Lorraine region.
Following this audit about its carbon emissions, the company is able to extend effectively, a citizen policy of energy management, which work over five ans.

Actions taken upstream

Upstream of its carbon footprint, Oberflex® has already made several strong steps to better control emissions. Among them, investment in a biomass boiler, which provide waste recycling and use of renewable resources. This initiative combined with the optimization of surfaces to heat the industrial site and better building insulation has already significantly reduced the environmental impact of industrial facilities.

An action plan at several points

Considering the results of its carbon footprint, today Oberflex® amplifies its efforts. It sets up an initial plan of action available on several points:

• Support investment in favor of concrete actions to reduce energy costs at the industrial and service sectors.
• Preferred suppliers eco responsible involved.
• Optimize the logistics of its business to reduce the impact of transport.
• Eco-design its futur products. As part of the national program CIMECOiv, an unprecedented operation mounted by the cluster fiber and partially funded by the DGCISv and the Lorraine et Alsace regions, Oberflex now entering a phase of deployment.

Oberflex provides control and monitoring of its program to reduce dynamically structured and encourages all departments of the company to adopt an eco daily behavior.
For all of these steps, Oberflex® enshrined in its culture thinking responsible citizens. It participates in a global awareness, to ensure the future today and tomorrow of our resources.

This translates upstream PEFC certification  for several years, which guarantees the provenance of its raw material. Issue sustainably managed forest, the species used by Oberflex® just operating that maintain biodiversity, productivity, regeneration capacity and vitality of natural resources, locally, nationally and globally.

Downstream, with its carbon footprint and a voluntary policy to reduce its C02 emissions, Oberflex® daily confirm its commitment to a "clean" industry and environmentally friendly. Thus the company is the preferred partner of the architecture subject to high environmental quality standards, to which it provides relevant solutions.
